We Care

We know you care too, which is why you can help us support one of the great Hong Kong charities just by choosing the right pizza …

For each Giardiniera pizza sold, we donate $8 to Hong Kong Cancer Fund, educating our community and ensuring no one faces cancer alone. Look out for extra ‘pink’ initiatives during October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Child Welfare Scheme provides protection, education, healthcare and opportunities to disadvantaged children and their families in Nepal. For every Piccolo children’s meal sold we donate $1 to this Hong Kong registered charity.

Our caring doesn’t stop there!  We also care for the amazing staff that we are proud to employ at PizzaExpress:

  • We are one of the few F&B establishments in Hong Kong that offer staff a five day working week, rather than the normal six days

  • Every single member of staff is awarded with medical and dental insurance

  • Training programmes and subsidies are in place to provide all our staff with the opportunity to progress

OUR GREEN CODE

Caring for the world we live in is of paramount importance at PizzaExpress, which is why we’ve introduced our very own ‘Green Code’:

REDUCE

  • We don’t offer plastic straws.  Biodegradeable straws are only available on request.

  • We limit the amount of single use items used for take out purchasing – made with recyclable materials or are biodegradeable

  • We aim to serve the right-size portions – in order to limit unnecessary food waste

  • We avoid over-use of air conditioning in a bid to reduce energy – and we install energy-efficient E.P. exhaust systems for air conditioning

  • All appliances and lights are switched off at night, or when not in use

  • Water reduction measures are in place for dishwashers and sanitation systems

  • Low-energy lighting systems are introduced in all new restaurants

  • Filtered water is available to all customers

  • ipad customer ordering systems and cloud-based stock control reduces need for paper

  • We actively support the Green Monday campaign in Hong Kong and encourage our diners to think smart one day a week and avoid meat, in order to help protect the environment

RECYCLE

  • For our restaurants in Hong Kong, where possible, our glass waste is sent to recycling, rather than to landfill

  • We are working towards a food waste collection scheme with shopping malls where leftover food is turned into compost, or fish food

OUR FOOD

  • We offer vegetarian options on all our menus including earth-friendly dishes featuring plant-based meat

  • A deliciously dairy-free vegan menu is available at our restaurants in Sai Ying Pun, One Island South, Lee Tung Avenue and Wellington Street

  • All whole eggs served in our restaurants are cage free; meaning happier hens and a healthier breakfast

We have been awarded as a Caring Company for over 15 years by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service.
